Make a cross-country ski strap

I made a strap for my cross-country skis so I could bike to the ski trails near my house. It works very well and stays in place. The bottom of the skis stay in the air away from the bike when I'm bent over holding the handle bars and riding.

It seems every survivalist loves the pine needle tea. Pine needle tea can actually be very bad for you. This is one thing many of these people fail to mention.


Backpacking and water filter failure: Get “semi- clean” water.

Generally in the wilderness we’re concerned with Giardia lamblia, which can cause severe diarrhea. Having this type of sickness in the comforts of your home is bad enough but out in the wilderness its much worse and can potentially put one in serious danger.


Get direction without a compass.

If you’re lost in the wilderness and don’t have a compass you can get direction easily. Here is a way you can get a fairly good sense of direction with about an hour of time and stick. This only works during the day with sunlight.
