It seems every survivalist loves the pine needle tea. Pine needle tea can actually be very bad for you. This is one thing many of these people fail to mention.
There is a reason animals don't eat pine needles. Some parts (seeds) of pine are actually OK to eat and do provide some nutritional value but for needles from trees like the Ponderosa Pine?
